Frankly, I don’t mind that the country really doesn’t allow abortion, actually I think it’s good that they discourage abortion. Come on there are a lot of condoms or pills out there being sold and what, it costs only Php 8.00 - Php 60.00 a piece why can’t people just buy them, they’ve been mainstream for a long time now.
Think about it, when you ask unfortunate people why they want kids, they’ll answer that with a number of kids they make there’s also the number of money they can generate. Here’s the thing, getting an abortion costs Php 5,000.00 - Php 15,000.00 compared to a condom price or the price of pills? Come on, frankly, why’d even bother to get an abortion when there’s a cheaper way out.
So how about Rape victims? The number of abortions happening in our country as they say is 500,000 a year, a year there’s almost 900 rape reports (based on 2008 stats). I’d take it if yearly we get 900 abortions but we don’t, we get 55,000% more of aborted babies than rape victims, what I’m trying to say is that most of the one’s getting abortion are those who happen to have sex casually.
If we encourage abortion in the Philippines then most likely, the number of abortions will increase and the casualties of having abortion would likely increase as well. Why won’t the casualties stop increasing you say? It’s because the price won’t probably go down, you pay doctors for labor. I’ll believe the price would go down if you could find me a good surgeon that would only cost me Php 100.00.
I’m not defending the church, and I actually think that the one’s who run the church sucks. I’m a Deist and my views aren’t being affected by my belief, I’m just being rational. :/
